hey folks

so i'm into my second week of the semester. so far, so not doing much work. i did spend about seven and a half hours reading at my intership today. wow, that's pretty boring. but i did have an awesome meeting with jennifer from the olive branch about catering the reception this afternoon. the food is going to be AWESOME! i'm super pumped. then ashley came over and we watched a couple of episodes of felicity and drove around to scout out apartments. then i rode my bike to elizabeths for a spell. it's weird to see two pals in one night that i haven't seen in quite a while. hmm, i think that was tv-distraction talking.
in other exciting news, trevor and i have won a honeymoon! now we just have to decide between the mexican locals of cabo san lucas, puerto vallarta, mazatlan, acapulco and cancun; or st. maarten; san juan, puerto rico; and puerto plata, dominican republic (though, probably not there because airfare is way more there). so if anybody has any suggestions on how to make this decision, i'd be much obliged.

...prove to dad i'm not a fool

well, it's back to school time! i had my first day at my internship today. this year i'm at Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families with Paul Kelley. i think it will be really good. macro level big changes kind of stuff. today i entered data that was gathered from a focus group to help rid the state of payday loans. good stuff. class starts tomorrow. i've got evaluation and research from 10-12, management and community practice I from 1-4, and statistics from 5-8. that's right...i'll be in the same building for 8 hours all in one day. i'm glad to be back into the swing of things, i feel like i'm in my element when i'm in school; probably explains why i'm going for another masters after this (that, or i'm afraid of living in the "real world"...nah). now that's not to say that i didn't thoroughly enjoy my 2 weeks of vacation i just had. traveling for a week and then hanging out in little rock. tried on my wedding dress that came in way earlier than expected. that was fun. got to hang out a good bit with rachel and her boyfriend dev; it was really good to see them. had a fun play date with leah; she saw the dress and tried on some bridesmaid dresses, we went bead shopping and she taught me to make necklaces and earrings and such, then out for semi-fancy italian food. friday i had what turns out to be my last day at hardin's river mercantile. yep, i've been "laid off". don't think i got fired or anything...it's just a little too expensive for them to have employees these days. so now i'm going to be scraping for the extra cash that my fridays were to provide me (sadly i'm poor enough for $64 a week to make a pretty big difference). elizabeth's going to put me on the substitute teaching list at christ lutheran, and i think i'll try to do the same at holy souls and mount saint mary (both where i went to school). so if anyone else knows of some odd jobs i could do on friday mornings and afternoons, i'd be ever so obliged if you'd send them my way (that is, if anyone checks this frequently enough).
well, that's enough of that for now. i'm off to do other things. like play on the internet some more and read. i didn't exercise today, which is a bad way to start out my week of exercise. but i am wearing my retainer for the second night in a row. oh, and watch out...you just my see a contact-eyed brooke in the sort of near future...

leave of absence

well, i'm finally finished with summer school! woohoo! now it's time for vacation. tonight i'm to perryville for anders' going away party. then it's seeing him off at the airport tomorrow morning and then a hop, skip, and a jump to telford, tn (whatever, it's a really long boring drive!). i've got meetings set up with the director of the program and of the concentration at appalatian state in boone, so that will take a couple of days out of the trip, but it should be a good time. well, it's starting to lightening, so i'm gonna shut down and get to finishing packing. later peeps.
