what? is that light at the end of the tunnel? i think i see it. yep, just 2 more weeks, and the semester is over. i hate to say it, but i'm so ready. i've been trying to plug through and get these last assignments knocked out, but the tv has been calling. survivor was intense tonight...go stephanie! now it's primetime...i'm in such a slump on thursday nights. seems like i'll watch anything to get my eyes off the task at hand.
here's something scary: compounding pharmacies take fda safety-approved medicine a and fda sefety-approved medicine b (and maybe c and d, etc), mix them together and dispense medicine coctails that may or may not be safe (and certainly not fda approved). wow.
i finally put together my push mower (you know, the kind without the motor) and "mowed" the lawn today. it's gotten so high, that i think i mostly just pushed the tall stuff over. whatever. it was certainly an upper-body work out!
speaking of working out, may i just say that i LOVE me some krispy kreme doughnuts!
on that note, i'm going to finish my show and shut my peepers.

Before you go over board against compounding pharmacies, you should know that compounding medicines are an essential part of pediatric medicine. Compounding pharmacies don't just combine any 2 drugs they see fit. There are certain medicnes that can be combined like amoxicillin with clavulinc acid equals augmentin. Anyway, it is not vodoo.

True, it's not voodoo. Generally the pharmacies are compounding to make it palatable. It's almost always a way to make it syrup or liquid for kids, elderly, etc. Some meds aren't crushable, and it takes a compounding pharmacy who knows the ins and outs of mixing to make liquid. And Augmentin comes as Augmentin - pharmacies don't have to mix 2 drugs in most cases - just a drug and a substrate (which wouldn't be fda approved b/c it's probably sugar water). Where did you find out about other abuses of this? I'd like to read more about it, because I'm sure there's lots of bad stuff going on that I'm not aware of.
